How do I implement barcode keyed automation with NRGship for UPS?

Barcode scanners like the Symbol LS2208 and LS6608 can be programmed to issue a pre and post-scan code which NRGShip can intercept. The pre-scan should be set to invoke Apple-1 and the post-scan should be set to invoke Apple-2. 

Scanned materials should include the Reference 1 field value using a barcode symbology like Code 128. These can be created using barcode fonts, or thru FileMaker modules like Barcode Basics.
