Error: #120049 Shipments delivered by UPS cannot be delivered to a PO Box, APO/FPO/DPO, or non-US48 address
UPS® SurePost will no longer deliver to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Territories.
The United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced several changes to its Parcel Select service that will significantly impact UPS SurePost. Parcel Select is designed for high-volume shippers to enter packages for delivery through the USPS, giving UPS and other high-volume shippers flexibility to leverage the postal delivery network for final-mile delivery.
What’s the background? Why are there changes?
UPS continually reevaluates its product offerings to ensure optimal value for customers. As part of this process, UPS will maintain business continuity with UPS SurePost and continue to meet customers’ expectations by leveraging the strength and flexibility of the UPS Smart Logistics Network.
What are the specific changes?
- Continued Service: UPS will service SurePost packages to all residential addresses within the contiguous 48 states
- Service Limitations: UPS cannot service:
- SurePost packages destined for PO/APO/FPO/DPO addresses
- Locations in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories
- Proactive Measures: UPS is taking proactive steps to stop induction of packages destined for these areas. Note: SurePost packages inducted for restricted areas will be returned to sender
What are the alternatives for customers, given the above service limitations?
- Service to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories: Available via UPS Ground and Air service levels
- Service to PO/APO/FPO/DPO addresses & Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories: Available under a UPS Mail Innovations contractual agreement.
