Label Printing from Remote Desktop, Web or Mobile Devices

NRGship includes a feature that allows for printing to remote thermal printers using the NRGship Remote Printer Helper. This feature is handy for several types of environments.

  • Shipping from Claris FileMaker Pro in a Microsoft Remote Desktop session
  • Printing labels to a separate printer in a warehouse used for fulfillment
  • Sharing a thermal printer that does not have built-in networking
  • You are shipping from a web browser or mobile device

First, contact NRG Software Support to have remote printing enabled for your account. NRG will provide you with a Remote Printer API key.

Next, you will need to install the Remote Printer Helper app on the workstation that has the thermal printer connected. This would get installed on your actual PC if you are using Microsoft Remote Desktop. For web or mobile devices you would install the app on a workstation with your USB-connected thermal printer.

The Remote Printer app will ask you to login to your NRGship account. Enter the same user/pass that you would use to access https://account.nrgsoft.com

The API key will get placed into your NRGship Printer Settings under Remote Printer API key or Print Node API key. You can then select your remote printer from the Printer Name popup.
