How do I take a screen snapshot?

If you are having an issue with your software, often time it's helpful to get a screenshot from you to help resolve your issue. You can take a screen shot on Mac or Windows.


Mac:
Entire screen: Hold down command+shift+3 simultaneously and an image file will be created on your desktop.
Selection: Hold down command+shift+cap+4 simultaneously and an image file will be created on your desktop.

Windows:
Bring up the screen you want to capture and press the print-screen button on the keyboard. This will take a picture of the screen and put it on the Windows clipboard.  Open Paintbrush. (Start Paintbrush via the Start menu or simply select Start | Run, type pbrush)

To paste in the shot, press Ctrl+V (or Edit->Paste ) 

Save the file. Depending on the version of Windows, you will have different file type options. Select the PNG, GIF or JPEG option. Once saved, you can attach the image file to an email.
